This book review is long overdue but quite a few things happened in the spring, which is why I am behind.
I grew up reading the Berenstain Bear books and still adore them. When I had the opportunity to review Mother’s Day Blessings by Mike Berenstain I knew I had to. The book is just as I remember them and I love the positive message each book has. The books were first introduced in the 1960’s by Stan and Jan Berenstain and while they have since passed on their son continues their legacy.
The story is beautiful. Brother and Sister Bear are trying to come up with what to surprise their mother with. The illustrations are beautiful and the paper is thick. The message is beautiful about how mother’s are everywhere and can be anyone – doctors, farmers, homemakers. And how being with their children is what is most important on Mother’s Day. This Berenstain Bear book does not disappointment with the lessons that have been a staple of these books since day 1.
